Welcome to the Residents' Society of Mayfair & St. James's

As a Residents’ Society, our principal function is to scrutinize all the planning and licencing applications that are submitted to the local authority. As the main Amenity Society for the area, Westminster City Council sends us a copy of every such application for us to comment on. Currently, we are in the process of building this website, which should be complete shortly. As we claim to speak for the community, we feel that it is important that we make every effort to bring the community together. We do this through a variety of social functions such as the Summer Garden Party, Business Rendezvous & the autumn Greening Event,  which are not only enjoyable, sell-out events but encourage neighbouring communication and awareness of local issues. Every December we host a multi-faith Christmas Carol Concert, the proceeds of which go to charity. Given that we are outnumbered 2-1 by businesses, we feel it is important to have business members. After all, many of the issues that arise in the area affect residents and businesses alike. It also means that we establish strong lines of communication so that if we do have a problem, we already know each other and therefore much more likely to arrive at a suitable compromise. We will soon be creating a Link on this website so you can visit Westminster Council's current Planning Applications and contact them or propose that the Society intervenes on your behalf.
